DIAPSALMATA: PORTRAIT OF A SELF (2022)

40 minute song cycle for baritone and chamber ensemble, using texts from Kierkegaard to tell the composer’s autobiographical story of finding selfhood.
Premiered by Stephen Marsh (baritone) and Forest Collective (conducted by Elliott Gyger)
at St. Stephen’s church, Richmond in April 2022.

Setting Charles Dickens’ opening to A Tale of Two Cities, IT WAS was written for double SATB choir and soprano saxophone soloist. Here it is performed by the Astra choir, and saxophonist Niels Bijl.
